optimism is the supreme source of sadness

how foolish of me to think that upon being offered a job AND accepting it, I should be excited because there's no telling when they'll just hire someone else the next day. who does that?? my life is sad right now, and I have no way to call anyone I really want to because my phone doesn't get service here and I don't have a phone card. yay
