I heart Huckabee

Since 1st grade I have been interested in politics. I distinctly remember a class vote for Bush or Dukakis. Bush (the first) won. I'm not sure if conservatism often typical of midwest families was the main influence or the fact that our young minds struggled to get past the idea that someone whose name sounded so much like poop was running for president. (dookie AND caca if you're not tracking here . . . ) At any rate, I've been at least mildly to very interested in politics for most of my life. Right now I'm pretty disillusioned by the whole process, which is not the least bit aided by the fact that my candidate is no longer in the running--Mike Huckabee. I know this post may seem a little outdated as Huckabee has been out of the race for some time, but I am not writing to extol his virtues. (No more IRS! What wasn't to love??) Rather I am writing and asking you to know about whichever candidate you have given or are looking to give your support. I think it

taking back what's mine

Blogger's note: if you happened to read this before 10am PDT on Friday 4-4-08 there was something screwy with the 2nd paragraph wherein pieces of two sentences that were to be at the end of the paragraph somehow ended up at the beginning of it, which caused it not to make so much sense. Some nights I don't even open my computer. But a bigger part of it has been that I have been censoring myself because I have been afraid that, due to issues (which are not appropriate to bring up in this forum) with my family all of whom it seems are reading this now, some of my writing could be misconstrued as passive aggressive. I didn't want to post anything that could possibly b

time passes at the speed of light

In the two months since I last blogged: I lost my job Got a new, way better one I turned 26 & for the first time in years had birthday cake! :) Keith got me yummy yummy yummy red velvet cake. my Valentine's stats went unfinished and unposted (sorry!) my car turned 1 (well technically it is older as I did not buy it the day it was made, but it was 1 to me) the cherry blossoms bloomed at the lake near my house I went to a Red Sox game and learned I hate pre-season when they put in a bunch of nobodies who play baseball worse than little leaguers. I'm not opposed to new players, Jacoby Ellsbury is my favorite but that's because he came in and played like a champion. the only candidate I could have voted for dropped out of the race :( I've discovered a lot of great music, my most recent favorite being the song Handlebars by Flobots. (You can check it out here .) Oh also, Fall Out Boy's cover of Beat It (Michael Jackson) is phenomenal. Nicole & I hosted our 3
