it's monkey time

So now that something happened which will get no further mention on this blog, it's time to root for the Angels. Which means it's rally monkey time! LA Angels! Woo! I vote for an Angels/Astros World Series.

I'm still quite sad about that thing of which we are not speaking and I blame Steve for his remarks earlier this week. :P

I must submit my heartfelt cheer for the Astros, and condemn any supporters of other teams. It is my duty and obligation as a true fan of the greatest, unappreciated team in baseball....GO STROS!!!!

I think it's about time the Braves won the series. Now I am a loyal Yankees fan, but seriously, the Braves have been in the playoffs every year since 1991 and have only won the series ONCE, in 1995. Sixteen years and one victory. That's dog dependable and sad. It's almost as bad as the Black Sox curse (the Sox haven't played the series since 1959 and haven't won since 1917).

So, here's for Braves vs Yanks with Braves taking it in 7.

i was in DC the year the braves won. We would be riding the metro, everyone listening on headphones to the game...and pretty much everyone rooting for the atl.

There's no love here for the unimaginative naming of teams by the color of their inner footwear. The Astros are the most underappreciated team in baseball (that actually does something). And they just played a seriously historic game, which means they can't lose now! Go Astros!

What's with all the Cardinals support here? Who knew?

Amber I'm pretty sure those are fighting words, but I have no love for the remaining team who is named for the color of their inner footwear, so I'm just going to pretend that's what you meant. :P What was so historic about the game the Astros just played? And if we want to talk about history we should probably be pulling for the White Sox to win as they haven't won since 1917 unless of course the Astros have never won, I'm not really up on all these stats. Either way I don't care about the White Sox and they must lose since they beat the Red Sox. I like the Angels and I live in LA, so I'm pulling for them. But I'm also pulling for the Astros for you and Ashlee. :) When it comes down to it, though if they're both in the WS I'm all about the Angels.

The game the Astros played to win the NLDS was 18 innings long (longest in postseason history), used 23 players (tied for most in postseason history), and was the third time in 239 games that a lead of 6 or more runs was lost. It was also the longest in postseason history in actual time elapsed. There are a bunch more historical things, but I don't remember them right now.

And the Astros have never been to the World Series - last year was the first time they made it out of the first round of the postseason. So, no sympathy for the White Sox here. Unfortunately, we will be parting company if it comes to an Astros/Angels World Series. :)

Oh, and any team with more than 3 words in its full name and a court case pending about that name has issues... :)
