repeat the sounding joy

Last night marked the delightful advent of Nicole and Azina's 2nd Annual Christmas Extravaganza. So many people showed up, it was quite wonderful. I had an enjoyable time and we got such a great response from everyone. :) It's so fun to plan something and then to see it come to fruition. I was thinking about that in church today as we were singing about heavenly host rejoicing at the birth of Christ. At first I asked myself, why were they so excited? They set it in motion. They knew it was coming. And as so many thoughts were floating through my mind about our party still, it really struck me. It's fun to plan things and to arrange everything just how you hope it to be, but to see it all work out is quite exciting. So I began to imagine God and the angels chilling in heaven as he explains the master plan- the greatest, most important & amazing plan to take place ever. Heaven is filled with anticipation and wonder. And then the night comes and a baby is born from the riches of heaven into the humblest of circumstances. Heaven is filled with joy and awe as the plan is fulfilled. And the angels simply cannot contain their wonder. Christmas is so marvelous. :)

That is such an amazing thought. I guess I'm jealous I haven't had that already!

Side note: I listened to your Holiday 2005 CD twice yesterday and half of it today already. I LOVE IT! I want another copy to send to my mom. I keep it in my car so when I'm all stressed from leaving work, or dreading going into work, I can get over it in a hurry. Love it. Thanks! The party was great.

Christmas is marvelous! Doesn't it just make you want to tell everyone you know, so you can share the joy and excitement?

Thanks Galen!

Thanks Troy!

Shauna I'm doing my happy Shauna's coming to town dance! It's way more exciting than Santa Claus coming to town!

Thanks Jodi! You can definitely have another cd just because you are so cool! I'm glad you enjoy it so much and that it is useful for relieving work stress. :)

Amber I think too many people get lost in the commercialism to realize that Christmas is so marvelous. They get hung up on whether a store is proclaiming "Happy Holidays" or "Merry Christmas" to which I say who cares? And they get upset when stores decorate too early or people start listening to Christmas music too soon, no offense to those of you with whom I've argued about this. My feeling is people can be upset at stores coopting Christmas or they can coopt it back and enjoy all the wonder. Either way I guess I've just discovered that people are either with you on the Christmas is awesome train or they're still waiting on the platform. It doesn't seem you can convince them to hop aboard.
