Waiter Rant is my new favorite site. Oh the joys of working in a restaurant.
Speaking of restaurants and food and the like, I can't even begin to tell you how many guys I know are on diets right now. Don't get me wrong, I think it's great if people want to be responsible and try to eat well, but the way some of these guys talk about it is the girliest thing I've ever heard. And for the record, I would just like to point out that a lot of girls don't mind a guy with a few extra pounds on him, it makes him very huggable & it makes a girl feel safe. So if you're doing it to be healthy, that's great & we applaud that. If you're doing it because you don't think you can get a girlfriend otherwise, you're just asking the wrong girls.

I just want to be ready for the summer months :) Do I diet so I'll be healthy? Of course, do I do it because I want too look nice? Sure :)
Now I must ask you, why do women diet? Can you say the same thing for women as men? Maybe they're attracting the wrong guys?
Women diet in general because of extreme societal pressure to be thin. I wrote this post b/c I wanted guys to know that they shouldn't be feeling so much pressure to be thin unless like I said they were doing it to be healthier. I don't hear a lot of guys trying to take that kind of pressure off of girls, so maybe it's not so much that we're attracting the wrong guys as it is the right guys aren't speaking up.
I understand what you're saying tho. It's not something you normally hear from men. Men and women are starting to become more educated about their health. Dieting isn't just for women anymore.
I dont think the pressure is primarily comming from men. Here's a good example. Could you go to work without makeup? The people that will notice will be the women you work with. Most of the guys are oblivious. Honestly, I love it when a woman can be comfortable without makeup on. I know she won't be as "socially attractive" but that doesn't matter to me.
