behold the greatness . . .

. . . of Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo!

Penguins!

A big turtle! And a niece!

It's hard to tell from this picture, but the meerkat in the front looks like he lost his left eye in a knife fight with a younger, cockier meerkat. I bet the San Diego zoo doesn't have any miscreant meerkats.

An Amish field trip to the zoo. (My mom says they're not Amish, but I can't remember what she said they were, either way still awesome.)

what, no peacocks, or roiling fish? How about the jungle, the pumas that wanted to eat ber, the bird house, the orangutan habitat? Oh, it's the best zoo ever!

I really cant believe how hung up you guys on on this whole zoo bit.... but I very much like the turtle (and the neice. Nice touch.) As for the "Amish-types," I am pretty sure those were Mininites; they can use dyes in their clothes and are allowed the use of zippers. :)

Keith, to tell you the truth, I am mainly playing this up because Azina gave me grief about it.

Then when you mentioned you had never been to a zoo that made it all the more fun, but mainly it's because Azina started it.

Thanks Keith, thought you'd like the picture. That's one of my favorites; I'm so pleased with how it turned out. I think you're right about the Mennonites. I knew it was some M-word. And I think you'll understand our zoo love once you go. Hmm something sounds off about the phrase "zoo love" but I'll leave it at that. ;)

psh Joe don't even pretend like you didn't start this. Yes I gave you grief about it, but you were the one wanting to plan trips to the zoo every day we're in Omaha to make up for being slighted (apparently) the last 2 times you were in Omaha. ;P

wow. you guys are amazing. I thought the spelling for Mennonites was off. Thanks for not bringin that up.

hey, no worries English major ;)
Keith said…
Umm... I am not an "English major" anymore, as I have a degree. :) (you started it.)
aziner said…
okay. no worries, Mr. Bachelors Degree In English Guy. that better? ;) at any rate I still consider you and English major. You majored in English, thus . . . well you get it. :)

Haha. I suppose it is all semantics at this point, but I see where you're going with this. (As an aside, there is a typo in that last comment you left me, but I will let you find it. LOL.) Anyway, if you have any more pictures of turtles, or of big, predatory animals of any kind, that would be cool to see. Bears are also nice...

yes "and" instead of "an" whoops

I have at least a few more pictures I can show you. :)

"Question: what kind of bear is best?"
"That's a ridiculous question."
"False: black bear."
"Well that's debatable. There are basically two schools of thought--"
"Fact: bears eat beets. Bears. Beets. Battlestar Galactica."
haha. best ever :)
